Ever since,
Terri was exposed to the beauty of a
sheep’s fleece on a 2000- acre ranch in
beautiful British Columbia at the young
age of 19, she has been exploring
textiles as an art form. Spinning and
dyeing wool, crocheting, tapestry
weaving, rag rug weaving, drawing and
finally, the beauty of painting silk
scarves have captured her attention over
the years.
When not
teaching high school art or tending to
her home and family, Terri dedicates her
“free” time, to exploring the rich
patterns, complex colors, and organic
textures inspired by nature in her
scarves. Using Setacolor fabric paints,
8 mm Habotai silk, a variety of Japanese
tie-dye techniques and other forms of
manipulating fabric, Terri’s
one-of-a-kind scarves are folded,
clamped, tied, scrunched, and hand
painted. Dedicated to intense patterns
and colors, her work is a labor of love.
